WORLD HERITAGE SITE
THE DERWENT MILLS
Visit Cromford Mills exploring the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site as well as a variety of visitor attractions, shops, cafes, exhibitions, guided tours and galleries.
VISITOR ATTRACTION
CRICH TRAMWAY VILLAGE
The National Tramway Museum contains over 60 trams built between 1900 and 1930 and is set within Crich Tramway Village, a period village containing a pub, cafe, old-style sweetshop and tram depots.
The museum’s collection of Trams runs through the village-setting with visitors transported one-mile out into the local countryside and back.
HILL WALKING
HEIGHTS OF ABRAHAM
The Heights of Abraham is a tourist attraction in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, England. It consists of a hilltop park on top of Masson Hill, accessed from the village by either the Heights of Abraham cable car or a steep zig-zag path.
Amongst the attractions in the park, which has been open since Victorian times, are cavern and mine tours. There are also views of the dramatic scenery of the valley of the River Derwent.

Carsington Water is a reservoir operated by Severn Trent Water located near Wirksworth.
The reservoir is a major centre for leisure activities including walking, cycling, fly fishing, birdwatching, sailing, canoeing, and windsurfing.

CROMFORD CANAL
Enjoy a waterside stroll along the Cromford Canal on this easy walk in Derbyshire. This section of the canal runs from Cromford to Ambergate and is designated as a Biological Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Local Nature Reserve.
The walk passes the Leawood Pump House by the aqueduct over the River Derwent and a series of pretty bridges. You’ll also pass shining cliff woods and enjoy lovely views of the Derwent Valley. This stretch and the footpath runs from Cromford to Ambergate and is a haven for wildlife.
